Champions | Seasons

The 2015 NASCAR Busch Series was the 34th season of the Busch Series, a professional stock car racing tour sanctioned by NASCAR in the United States. It began with the Road America 180 by Howard Johnson's at Road America on January 24, and ended with the Ford EcoBoost 300 at Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 21. Chase Elliott entered the 2015 season as the defending series champion. Chris Buescher won the championship.

The 2015 season marked the replacement of the fourth-generation car with the Strictly Stock Car (SSC), which was introduced in the RCA Cup Series in the 2014 season.

This season also saw history being made, as Morgan Shepherd became the oldest driver to win a NASCAR national series race when he won the Tesla 200 on August 28, 2015, at the age of 73 years, 10 months, and 16 days.

Rule changes[]

New Car[]

2015 marked the introduction of the Strictly Stock Car (SSC) in the Busch Series, having been introduced to the Sprint Cup Series the previous year. No changes were made to the SSC, thus making the Busch cars once again identical to the Sprint Cup cars for the first time since 2007. The same models as the Cup Series ran in 2015 (Chevrolet Camaro and Impala, Ford Fusion and Mustang, Dodge Charger and Challenger, Toyota Camry, and Honda Civic and Accord); the sole exception was the controversial Dodge Dart, which wasn't offered for short track and road course events as it was in the Cup Series; in addition, Viva Motorsports was allowed to run the Malibu as part of a promotion by Chevrolet (the Malibu later replaced the Impala as Chevrolet's non-Camaro model in 2019).
