A Bug's Life 2 is a 2018 American 3D computer-animated comedy-drama film produced by Pixar Animation Studios for Walt Disney Pictures. It is the second installment in Pixar's A Bug's Life series and the sequel to A Bug's Life (1998). It was directed by Josh Cooley (in his directorial debut) from a screenplay by John Lasseter, Tim Johnson, Andrew Stanton, and Stephany Folsom. Dave Foley, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Hayden Panettiere, Richard Kind, David Hyde Pierce, Denis Leary, Bonnie Hunt, Michael McShane, Brad Garrett, Edie McClurg, David Ossman, and John Ratzenberger reprise their character roles from the first film. They are joined by Lewis Black (replacing the late Alex Rocco), Alan Tudyk (replacing Roddy McDowall), Jim Cummings (replacing Jonathan Harris), Jennifer Aniston (replacing Madeline Kahn), and Jerome Ranft (replacing his brother Joe), alongside Madeleine McGraw, Sonia Manzano, Bruce Campbell, Bill Hader, Rashida Jones, and Joan Cusack, who all voice new characters.

The film takes place five years after A Bug's Life, as Dot and the circus bugs must rescue the colony from a fireant colony that has been destroying other colonies. Meanwhile, Flik and Atta must rescue their daughter Autumn, who has been kidnapped by said colony.

A Bug's Life 2 premiered on June 7, 2018 at the San Jose Theatre in San Jose, California, and was released in the United States on June 15, 2018, in RealD 3D, Dolby Cinema, 4DX, IMAX and IMAX 3D. It grossed $1.073 billion worldwide, becoming the highest-grossing installment of the franchise, the eighth highest-grossing film of 2018, and the fifth-highest-grossing animated film of all time during its theatrical run. The film was positively reviewed by critics for the story, humor, emotion, score, animation, and performances. It won the Critics' Choice Movie Award for Best Animated Feature and the Producers Guild of America Award for Best Animated Motion Picture. At the 91st Academy Awards, it was nominated for Best Original Song and Best Animated Feature.

Plot[]

Flik (Dave Foley), Queen Atta (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), Princess Dot (Hayden Panettiere), and Flik and Atta's children Autumn (Madeleine McGraw) share some words of sympathy. Just then, a group of fireants led by Axel (Bruce Campbell) and Spike (Bill Hader) interrupt the proceedings. Axel tells Atta that the fireants come in peace and that he intends to help the colony. Atta, however, doesn't believe him, as he and the fireants had come at an inappropriate time. Spike warns
