Beginnings and Formation (1988-Beyond): The company's origins traces its beginnings to when Barney & Friends became a huge success. Barney & Friends was owned and produced by The Lyons Group, a company that was owned by Richard C. Leach, who previously produced its predecessor, Barney & The Backyard Gang. Both series were created by Sheryl Leach, the daughter-in-law of Richard. In 1994, Richard Leach had begun production on a new series titled Wishbone, which was produced by Big Feats! Entertainment. Because of the emerging video business, it led to the creation of Lyrick Studios, which was formed under its parent company Lyrick Corporation. Richard Leach's vision for Lyrick Studios was to expand the offerings of quality children's entertainment products. Both The Lyons Group and Big Feats! Entertainment and Lyrick Studios. Barney & Friends is an American children's television series targeted at children aged 2–7, created by Sheryl Leach. The series first aired on PBS on April 6, 1992 and features Barney, a purple anthropomorphic Tyrannosaurus rex who conveys educational messages through songs and small dance routines with a friendly, huggable and optimistic attitude. Barney & Friends is The School Sets served as the original live-action setting for Barney & Friends from Season 1 until Season 6 Only at PBS on April 6, 1992-April 14, 2000 and Despite the continuity of the series remaining the same, the look of the school changed throughout the seasons. For the first two seasons of the TV Series, the school set was located at ColorDynamics at Greenville Avenue & Bethany Drive in Allen, Texas, for Season 3, the school sets were relocated to the The Studios in Las Colinas in Irving, Texas, U.S. with the addition of the new treehouse building set and some more changes and look evolution, and for Season 4, still in the same studio building Season 3 was filmed on, the set it was redesigned and renovated to have it take place at the new school and treehouse building with the new design and look in the next new location until Season 6. An early version of the School Sets debuted in Barney Goes to School, with some props being used later for the series. In April 2000, the live-action setting was successfully finished by after filming on the last Barney Home Video, Barney's Super Singing Circus, the very last home videos to fully use and utilize the sets, were successfully finished.
