Franz Josef Strauß (* September 6th, 1915 in Munich) is a Soldier of the Wehrmacht in 1940. His Family is very Catholic, monarchist and anti-Prussian.

After getting Bavaria's best university entrance diploma in March of 1935, he started studying the classics, History, political science, and Germanistics at the University of Munich.

At first his Immatriculation was declined, because he was no member of any National Socialist Organisation; after a complaint of his former Tutor and teacher, he was accepted. Strauß became a member of the Nationalsozialistischer Deutscher Studentenbund (NSDStB) - the old Studentenverbindungen (roughly: fraternities) had been forced to dissolve in 1936. In 1937, he also became a member of the Nationalsozialistisches Kraftfahrerkorps (NSKK), as Professor Franz Dirlmeier had recommended him to. In July 1939, he left the NSKK again.

Thanks to his Studies, he was put on hold twice, but finally drafted by the Wehrmacht on August 31st in 1939.

In March of 1940, he got a holiday to do his exams. After his return, his unit was moved on May 1st to France, for the war in the west. After the armistice, he stayed there.
