George Smith Patton (* November 11th, 1885 in San Gabriel, California) is a colonel of the US Army and a Veteran of the Pancho Villa Expedition and the First World War, in which he trained the first 500 US American tank drivers. There were many Military men and Politicians in his Family. His younger Sister Anna "Nita" was temporarily engaged to his Mentor, General John J. Pershing.
He's considered an eccentric, believes in Reincarnation, and having lived many Lives in the past - all of them as a warrior. Also, he writes war poetry. In 1912, he competed in modern pentathlon at the Olympic Games. In 1913, he designed the M1913 Cavalry Saber, more commonly known as the "Patton Saber", for the US Cavalry. His trademarks are an ivory-gripped, engraved, silver-plated Colt Single Action Army .45 caliber revolver on his right hip, and an ivory-gripped Smith & Wesson Model 27 .357 Magnum.
Between the World Wars, he pressed for development of armored warfare. In 1932, he was dissatisfied with MacArthur's conduct "clearing" the Bonus Army, as he recognized the legitimacy of the veterans' complaints and had himself earlier refused to issue the order to employ armed force to disperse the veterans. In 1937, he wrote a paper with the title "Surprise" which predicted a surprise attack by the Japanese on Hawaii.
He reads a lot, especially about Military history, about the exploits of e.g. Hannibal, Scipio Africanus, Julius Caesar, Jean d'Arc, and Napoleon Bonaparte.
He is (in)famous for his colorful speech, although this helps with his popularity among Soldiers, and is generally considered a good commander.
Although his views are controversial, in Practice he fully accepts blacks and Jews, as long as they are good Soldiers, as he says - for this time, very progressive.
In 1910, Patton married Beatrice Banning Ayer (* 1886), daughter of the Boston Textile industrialist Frederick Ayer. They have three Kids, Beatrice Smith Patton (* 1911), Ruth Ellen Patton (* 1915), and George Patton IV. (* 1923).
