Detective Jenny is known for its large cast of characters. Here is a list of them, along with any factions they may belong to.

Characters[]

United Nations[]

The United Nations (UN) is an intergovernmental organization tasked to promote international co-operation and to create and maintain international order. A replacement for the ineffective League of Nations, the organization was established on October 24, 1945 after World War II to prevent another such conflict.

  • Janet Wallis (English: Tress MacNeille; Japanese: Makoto Kōsaka; Latin American Spanish: Patricia Acevedo) is the Secretary-General of the UN since 2005, succeeding the late Michael Williamson; prior to then, she was the Under-Secretary-General.
  • Lawrence Spadowski (English: Dean Norris; Japanese: Akira Kamiya; Latin American Spanish: Jorge Santos) is the Under-Secretary-General of the UN since 2005, succeeding Janet.
  • Bob Adler (English: Tru Valentino; Japanese: Mark Ishii; Latin American Spanish: Eduardo Garza) is the Assistant Secretary-General of the UN since 2023.

Former[]

  • Michael Williamson (English: Jerry Orbach; Japanese: Tōru Ōhira) was the Secretary-General of the UN from 1968 until his 2005 death. He was the chief architect of Project Hercules.
  • Gerald West (English: Kevin Conroy; Japanese: Tesshō Genda) was the Assistant Secretary-General of the UN from 1992 to 2023. After Conroy's death on November 10, 2022, West retired to an undisclosed location in the fifteenth season.

Team Jenny[]

The main protagonists of the series, Team Jenny is the UN's best team of detectives, founded in 1979 with Jenny (hence the name) and Makayla as the original two members. The show's title is a misnomer, as the team more often acts as spies, saboteurs, assassins, and even commandos (originally, in the first six issues, the comics had the team simply investigate criminal activities so that the FBI would bust the culprits, acting as actual detectives, before Tammy Jo decided that the team being biologically-enhanced super soldiers would be more exciting, though the Detective Jenny name was kept; the first six issues were retconned as training exercises organized by Dr. Yamashita). They are often used for infiltration, sabotage, rescue, and combat (with the combat aspect becoming more and more pronounced throughout the series, to the point many in-universe question why the term "Detective" is still used, when Detectives are more often used by the UN to completely bypass the bloated bureaucracy of governments and slow investigations of police departments and send what many consider "Black Ops Squads" to put an immediate end to any threat by violent means, no matter how small the threat).

Despite their young biological ages (ranging from 13-16), they are hypercompetent at their jobs, rarely getting so much as a scratch. Alone, they are extremely dangerous, and as a team, they are completely unstoppable; even the duo of Jenny and Makayla are usually more than sufficient to get the job done unless the mission specifically calls for specialized equipment such as aircraft, hacking, or explosives. However, since they have had to experience a wide range of horrifying sights, their mental and emotional states are very, very fragile, and they are liable to flip out unexpectedly at any time.

All members of the team (and all UN Detectives, in general) carry small dice-sized cubes that actually contain an entire universe to store larger objects (it cannot, however, store people or vehicles yet). They have a direct neural link to these devices that allow them to quickly materialize and de-materialize anything they need (though they usually carry their main weapons in holsters). Destruction of a "Subspace Storage Cube" could result in the creation of a black hole, but this theory has yet to be tested (though Jenny threatens to do so in The Fifth Movie just to stop Black Scorpion's latest plot).

Team Jenny is one of 26 such squads of "detectives" that underwent the Project Hercules process. The team's official designation is "Delta Squad" (there is one team for each letter in the NATO Phonetic Alphabet); in the first episode "Ronnie's First Mission", it was referred to as "Alpha Force", this being before the other 25 squads were created. Of the 26 squads, Delta Squad is the most famous and effective, and is almost exclusively referred to as Team Jenny.

The team can be roughly divided into three groups, based on who created them. The first six members are often referred to as "The Original Six" and are the most major, appearing in nearly every episode and the opening sequence.

  • Jenny G. Denver (English: Mary Kay Bergman from 1993 to 1999 and Tara Strong since 1999 at age sixteen, Emily Tennant at age ten, and Jodelle Ferland at age four; Japanese: Atsuko Tanaka; Latin American Spanish: Marina Huerta) - Jenny is the title character and protagonist. She is the leader and namesake of Team Jenny, as well as the oldest member. Born Jennifer Gertrude Denver (Makayla generally addresses her as "Jen") on June 10, 1963 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada to Denver Crime Family leader Clay Denver and his wife Anna and raised in El Paso, Texas (where the Denvers relocated to in 1965 after the heat caught up with them). Jenny is usually the most level-headed member of the team and serves as a calming influence to the others. Most of the time, Jenny is relatively subdued, only showing emotion either when on her own, or with Makayla, who is the only person she trusts to know her true self. However, she finally started opening up to the rest of the team in the final episode of the original run. Her lack of emotion most of the time also makes her a nightmare to play against in poker, as she's become so used to not expressing herself, nobody can get any tells out of her; on a related note, Jenny's area of interest is poker, and she is perhaps one of the greatest Texas Hold 'Em players of all time, to the point that she can singlehandedly provide 30% of the team's funding. Even so, Jenny is not immune to flipping out, once ripping off a Libyan drug smuggler's arm and then shoving it up his anus in the seventh season episode "Yay Kaboom". She is a well-rounded agent, able to do anything while excelling at nothing, making her the most reliable agent employed by the UN. She can use any weapon with ease, but prefers to use a Walther P-38 with optional silencer, stock, and laser scope; she initially used a Beretta M1951, but switched in 1984 upon seeing a kid play with a Megatron toy in gun mode and doing research. Most of the time she also wields a brown pocket knife, which she generally uses for interrogation. However, she isn't perfect, suffering from a severe case of acrophobia that causes her to freeze up. Jenny also has Asperger's syndrome, explaining some of her behaviors, such as her acrophobia, constantly being around Makayla, and her lack of emotion; some other autistic hallmarks, like stimming and certain interests, are also present, but others, like sensitivity to loud noises, being touched, and having strict routines, were inhibited by Project Hercules. During the seventh season, Jenny suffered from vocal cord paralysis in a shootout with the Vincenetti crime family, requiring a surgery that alters her voice (this was done to transition from Mary Kay Bergman, who committed suicide on November 11, 1999, to successor Tara Strong); in a three-episode arc, Jenny was completely silent, and had to relay orders with gestures and sign language, using Makayla as a translator (they have known each other for so long, they can quickly create a complex plan using nothing but head and eye movements that are so subtle, nobody can pick up on it). Her callsign is Delta Lead.
  • Makayla Gómez (English and Latin American Spanish: Alanna Ubach at age sixteen, Selena Gomez at age ten, and Natalia Juárez at age four; Japanese: Kikuko Inoue) - The deuteragonist. Born Makayla Ximena Gómez (Jenny addresses her almost exclusively as "Mack") on September 25, 1963, Makayla is Jenny's second-in-command, childhood friend, and confidant (there were also many hints throughout the series that Jenny and Makayla may have been romantically attracted to each other, which is confirmed in the original series finale; the relationship between the two is often considered one of the most important aspects of the series), and often her main anchor to sanity. She and Jenny have known each other since they were two, mainly because their families frequently did business together. She is also the wealthiest member; her deceased uncle Alejandro Gómez, an immigrant from Mexico, made his fortune by mining oil through his company, the Gómez Oil Company, which he started in 1960 as a front for the Camino Cartel (so-called because it was based in the town of San Camino); Makayla has full access to the family's bank accounts due to the fact she is the only one whose assets weren't frozen after the Cartel was exposed, and said account has never run low because all UN Detectives get multi-million dollar paychecks due to the hazardous nature of their work. As such, Makayla can get access to a therapist who will see her (most therapists refuse to see the team out of fear of being targeted by their enemies). As a result, she is the most well-adjusted member, but still has episodes of depravity, especially if Jenny is missing or captured, in which case she is an unstoppable force of nature who leaves nothing but death and destruction in her wake, and will not stop until Jenny is found and rescued. Makayla's specialty is infiltration, which she achieves using a variety of gadgets and gizmos such as a grappling gun, a laser cutter, and a watch that renders her invisible. She also has a fusion-powered jetpack to access hard-to-reach places and has enough thrust to allow Makayla to carry Jenny, which proves useful for missions where it's just the two of them, as the jetpack can fly at speeds approaching Mach 3; it's also the only thing that can calm Jenny during her acrophobia episodes; said jetpack also has a built-in air shield, allowing them to fly in the upper atmosphere and also deflecting bullets or debris and allowing flight at high speeds without risk of the airstream causing injury, which is how Jenny and Makayla can fly far afield from Bergman Manor without an aircraft. Her area of interest is animals, specifically rabbits, goats, and as of more recently, numerous insects and other arthropods seen as "beneficial", particularly North American native bees; Jenny and Makayla both also like trains, and take great pains to not destroy trains, but simply stop them by getting into the cab (usually using Makayla's jetpack). She tends to slip Spanish words in her sentences. Makayla wears the same uniform she wore when she attended Mildred Winston Academy under the alias Stephanie Reyes during her separation from Jenny between 1976 and 1979. Her callsign is Delta Two.
  • Terry Clampett-Jones (English: Hynden Walch; Japanese: Fujiko Takimoto; Latin American Spanish: Maggie Vera) - Team Jenny's weapons expert, born Teresa Marlene Clampett-Jones on February 17, 1970. Terry grew up on a farm in California's Central Valley, and whose parents (who were of Welsh-Italian heritage) were killed by cattle rustlers; she killed the rustlers with their weapons, then used their remains as fertilizer. She was then put in an orphanage run by a shifty man named Jim Albertson, who turned out to be notorious serial killer Ted Bundy; she called the cops immediately after escaping one night and was taken in by the UN for Project Hercules in 1984. Initially, Jenny and Makayla were dismissive of her, using her as an errand girl due to thinking they were working well enough as a duo, until Terry proved her worth in battle. Terry's area of interests is guns: she can use a wide variety of weapons, from knives to rocket launchers and everything in between, though she favors dual-wielding a pair of sawn-off shotguns into battle, even wearing special boots with small, inconspicuous autoloaders that she developed herself to quickly reload them in the heat of battle (she sticks the rear of the barrels into the autoloaders, which are placed at a 45-degree angle so she won't have to reload in an awkward position); she tends to conceal weapons in her jacket and reveal them when going loud. She often tries to put on a tough-girl act, but fails miserably due to her mental trauma; she is very close to Ronnie, with the two having a sisterly relationship. Her callsign is Delta Three.
  • Kristen Smith (English: Cree Summer; Japanese: Miina Tominaga; Latin American Spanish: Claudia Motta) - Kristen is one of the team's two pilots. She was born Kristen Luciana Smith (often addressed as "Kris" by Louise) on July 14, 1971. Her parents were the leaders of the New Black Panthers until members of the FBI killed them in 1986, at which point she was taken into custody by the UN and accepted into Project Hercules. Despite only being biologically 15 years old, she can pilot any aircraft or helicopter with ease. She is also one of the more mentally stable members of the team (and most likely to dish out snarky quips), although she still has episodes of depravity. Kristen's area of interest is planes: she is talented at repairing and maintaining old machines and vehicles, and owns multiple vintage vehicles such as a Ford Model T, a Plymouth Superbird (which she named "Old Blue" and uses as her daily driver), a P-51 Mustang, a Sopwith Camel, a WWII-era Army Jeep, and even an M48 Patton tank. Kristen also designs all of the team's specialized vehicles, such as Big Bertha and the Megatank. She is best friends with fellow pilot Louise, and is often the only one who can keep her in check (it's often said her other job besides piloting is holding Louise and Terry's proverbial leashes, lest they go out on the town and murder every jaywalker, online griefer, and Fox News/News Nation viewer on sight; as an aside, Kristen and Terry have a love-hate relationship with each other, as they normally can't have a conversation without it devolving into a profanity-laced shouting match). Her callsign is Delta Four.
  • Louise Savage (English: Kristen Schaal; Japanese: Hekiru Shiina; Latin American Spanish: Elsa Covián) - The team's other pilot, born Louise Valentina Savage (often nicknamed "Lou" by Kristen) on April 18, 1972 to a Russian mother, Natalya (who was killed in a plane crash), and an Irish/Dutch father, Timon (who became an extreme Christian fundamentalist after surviving said plane crash); she was conceived via rape by her father, and had a younger brother named Loren. At childhood, the siblings often suffered verbal, physical, and mental abuse from Timon, who saw them as "a couple of mistakes", never giving them proper education, rarely feeding them (forcing them to steal food from the garbage), and putting them in "asylum-like" living conditions, all the while giving the community the impression of the two being well-raised. In 1984, Loren was choked to death by Timon for "disowning God" (despite Loren chewing Timon out for mistreating both him and Louise). As revenge, Louise brutally murdered him with a corkscrew and a butter knife, eating his remains before going on the run, keeping a photo of herself and Loren as a souvenir; two years later, she was found by the UN in the midst of a killing spree and (reluctantly) recruited into Team Jenny along with Kristen. Louise owns seven cute but deadly attack dogs (who were the first animals to undergo the Project Hercules process) and is much like her best friend Kristen: able to pilot any aircraft or helicopter with ease, though Louise has the bonus of being able to drive land vehicles and watercraft. Of everyone on the team, she is the one who is most likely to be singled out as genuinely insane; for example, in "Desert Rats" Louise flays a terrorist to death with his own knife, and in The Eleventh Movie, she brutally maims an arms trafficker, preserving his remains as food for her dogs. Not only that, but roughly 75% of her dialogue also consists of chewing several tons of scenery per minute, her more lucid moments coming during slower scenes. One can tell when she's about to go postal when her eye starts twitching and she starts talking slowly (sometimes in a chillingly serene tone), in which case, one should immediately pray to whatever god they worship; she also has piercing dark-red eyes (which are not natural, and are the result of how angry she was while undergoing the Project Hercules process), which Jenny declared a "deep crimson flag" upon first meeting her (Jenny's concerns were immediately vindicated by Louise naming her dogs after notorious serial killers); said eyes will even glow red (accompanied by a distinct audio cue recycled from the sound made by the Mammoth Car from Speed Racer), signifying that she's either done toying with her quarry, or finds what her next victim has done to be truly reprehensible. The team once attempted to subject her to "powerful Adlerian therapy" to help her psychosis; every therapist they tried ended up committing suicide. She also enjoys giving her victims cruel but creative deaths (such as forcing one victim to breathe helium until she died so her last words were in a squeaky, high-pitched voice, as well as fatally lobotomizing another victim with a rusty ice pick and shrinking a cannibal cult leader with the Delta Shrinkgun to eat her feet-first, making sure to chew on her slowly and horribly). All things considered, she lives up to her surname, and is considered the Token Evil Teammate. Despite this, Louise is fully aware of her psychosis, once saying she joined the team to stop other psychos from killing and destroying with reckless abandon; she is perfectly capable of rational thought and having a civilized conversation when off-duty, only kills people who deserve it, and lives in constant fear that she may one day go too far and have to be put down like a mad dog. Louise is also a fan of horror films, though she finds slasher flicks to be "unrealistic" and complains that movie killers are "idiots" who play with their victims and thus give them a chance to escape or fight back, while she just goes straight for the kill without giving her opponents a chance to fight back. Her area of interest is military history. She heavily inspired the character of Trevor Philips in Grand Theft Auto V. Her callsign is Delta Five.
  • Ronnie Hinton (English: Melissa Fahn; Japanese: Maria Kawamura; Latin American Spanish: Alejandra de la Rosa) - Veronica Alexis Hinton (Terry tends to refer to her as "Ron" or "Rons") was born on July 28, 1980 to a Jewish family. Her parents (who were allied with the Camino Cartel) and her older brother Ben were killed in a drive-by shooting in 1993 by members of the Vincenetti Crime Family; she was the only survivor, and was recruited into Team Jenny after she was caught hacking into a government server to hide her parentage. She joined the team in the series' pilot and was quickly taken under Terry's wing. Being the youngest and newest member in the original run, Ronnie didn't have nearly as much mental or emotional damage as the other members, though she developed some psychosis by the end of the first season. She is one of the sanest team members, mainly because she rarely, if ever, engages in combat, rarely even touching a gun. Ronnie's specialty lies in electronics, able to hack computers with impunity and disassemble and reassemble chipsets in minutes while leaving no evidence behind. She also carries EMP charges designed and built by herself, and can quickly reprogram robots to her side. She also sees putting active grenades in peoples' pockets as the first solution to a problem. Ronnie is known to slip Yiddish words into her sentences, usually when under duress (such as saying "oy" or calling a situation "fercockt") or to insult someone (such as calling Louise a "kelev", which means "vicious dog"; Louise considers it a compliment). She also refers to Jenny exclusively as "Commander", as she believes in formally addressing her superior officer; Jenny, on her part, is constantly frustrated by this, as the entire team is on a first-name basis with each other. Despite her Jewish heritage and use of Yiddish, Ronnie considers herself atheist. Her callsign is Delta Six.

Starting with The Fourth Movie in 2003, three new members joined, often referred to as the "Hill Quartet" due to being created by Timothy Hill:

  • Malia Vincenetti (English: Jessica DiCicco; Japanese: Tomoko Kawakami from 2003 to 2010, Emiri Katō since 2008; Latin American Spanish: Cristina Hernández) - Malia Shannen Vincenetti was born on March 23, 1989, and serves as a weapons builder. Her father Stefano is the don of the Vincenetti Crime Family; in 2003, a UN member in disguise as a Vincenetti made man took Malia away for Project Hercules after she came forth as a whistleblower for the family. Like Angus MacGyver, Malia can make efficient weapons out of ordinary household objects. She tends to slip Sicilian phrases in her sentences. Prior to being properly introduced, Malia made multiple silent cameos during the series' first run; Tammy Jo stated in an interview that it was her intention from the beginning for Malia to one day join Team Jenny, and to that end, included her in multiple episodes so viewers could watch her grow up before having a formal introduction; production notes and storyboards referred to simply as "Albert's daughter", as Tammy Jo didn't conceive the name Malia until the fourth film entered production in 2001; she was originally going to be named "Christy", but this was changed because it sounded too similar to Kristen. Her callsign is Delta Seven.
  • Ojasvi Ati Malhotra (English: Sujata Day; Japanese: Masayo Kurata; Latin American Spanish: Carla Castañeda) - Ojasvi is the team's engineer. She is of Indian heritage and was born on November 10, 1988. As a child, she was able to build and repair various machines. Her family (including her parents and two older siblings) was killed by terrorists affiliated with al-Salam on her thirteenth birthday, leaving Ojasvi the sole survivor; despite this, she doesn't believe all Arabs are inherently evil, and is close with Emily (who generally calls her "O"), even bonding over their backgrounds involving al-Salam. She mainly specializes in machines built to deceive and kill enemies. Ojasvi tends to slip Odia phrases in her sentences. Her callsign is Delta Eight.
  • Emily Hadid (English: Alia Shawkat; Japanese: Chieko Higuchi; Latin American Spanish: Mariana Ortiz) - Born on May 3, 1989, she is a martial arts expert from Glasgow, and is of Palestinian heritage; Ojasvi generally addresses her as "Em". Prior to joining Team Jenny, Emily's Muslim parents were killed in the crossfire of one of al-Salam's terrorist attacks, causing her to track down and snap the necks of the terrorists that killed them. Being a martial artist, she can take out enemies with kung-fu or karate, and is also a natural fighter. Despite her predisposition to melee fighting, she can and will use firearms in a pinch. She is best friends with Ojasvi, and also slips Palestinian Arabic words in her sentences. Early in development, she was Caucasian and had the last name Kennedy. Her callsign is Delta Nine.
  • Sandra Thomas (English: Erica Luttrell; Japanese: Masumi Asano; Latin American Spanish: Nallely Solis) - The team's demolitions expert. Sandra Carolyn Thomas (Malia tends to refer to her as "Sandy") was born on August 19, 1988 to an English father and an African-American mother. When she was a baby, Sandra lived in England, and her parents were killed in an explosion set off by a terrorist group (later revealed to be the Celtic Liberation Front), which also made her blind. Her aunt and uncle moved her to an American orphanage, which in reality was a Black Scorpion front, with its soldiers brainwashing the children to their ideals (explaining Sandra’s American accent); it eventually fell to a National Guard raid and Sandra was taken in by the UN for Project Hercules (which had the added benefit of restoring her sight, though she chose to keep her sunglasses) and her brainwashing undone. Sandra is able to rig any kind of explosive from cherry bombs to thermonuclear devices (provided she can get her hands on enriched uranium). Despite this, she often leaves the act of detonating explosives to Ronnie. Her favorite pastime is booby-trapping her enemies' things; for example, in The Eighth Movie, Sandra used a slaver's wallet and added a cutter so that the slaver's fingers would be chopped off. Her callsign is Delta Ten.

In 2017 with The Eleventh Movie, six more members joined, often referred to as "Tim's Sextuple Threat" due to being created by Tim Johnson:

  • Daisy Chen (English: Haley Tju; Japanese: Sora Amamiya; Latin American Spanish: Andrea Orozco) - Born Daisy Lee Chen on October 20, 2003, her parents hated her for being "a mistake" and continually made her suffer whenever she didn’t do what they expected her to do; they were arrested and sentenced to 25 years in prison for child abuse, and were later killed by other prisoners upon learning what they did. She is the team’s commando who usually stays in the shadows with a high-powered sniper rifle. Kristen often dismisses her as a "crazed gunwoman", but she insists she's an assassin, and a professional with standards: be polite, be efficient, and have a plan to kill everyone you meet. She often slips Mandarin words in her sentences. Her callsign is Delta Eleven.
  • Alexis Berger (English: Nicole Maines; Japanese: Ai Hashimoto; Latin American Spanish: Susana Cohe) - One of Team Jenny's two researchers, Alexis Lyn Berger was born Henry Steven Berger on October 19, 2002 in Mississippi, and is of Russian, French, and Romani descent. At an early age, she was a top-performing student in school. At thirteen, she came out as transgender, which led to her getting ostracized by her deeply-conservative, Christian parents. This culminated in an incident when her parents tried to burn her alive, believing that she had willingly rejected God, before they were taken away by UN agents, and she was inducted into Team Jenny; shortly after her induction, she received breast implants. Her callsign is Delta Twelve
  • Molly Richter (English: Amber Midthunder; Japanese: Minori Chihara; Latin American Spanish: Samantha Domínguez) - Team Jenny's saboteur, Molly Florence Richter was born on February 3, 2002 in Minnesota and is of Native American descent. Her parents were killed in a mysterious explosion when she was a toddler, leaving her in the care of an abusive aunt, who was eventually arrested with Molly being taken in for Project Hercules. She can convincingly disguise as anybody to trick unwitting criminals. Molly also tends to slip Navajo words in her sentences. Her callsign is Delta Thirteen.
  • Jordyn Vasquez (English: Indya Moore; Japanese: Aki Toyosaki; Latin American Spanish: Humberto Vélez Jr.) - Jordyn Rowan Vasquez was born Javier Umberto Vasquez in Puerto Rico on December 15, 2003 and is of Dominican and Haitian ancestry. They're notable for being the team's first non-binary member. Assigned male at birth, Jordyn was frequently the target of abuse by their parents, Roberto and Maribel, culminating in them leaving Jordyn to die in the sea after they were blamed for murdering their sister, until Roberto and Maribel were revealed to host a massive child porn ring and were arrested, with Jordyn being inducted into Project Hercules. They're the team's field agent, with sniper rifles being their preferred method of attack. In addition, they tend to slip Spanish words in their sentences. Their callsign is Delta Fourteen.
  • Kammi Fujita (English and Japanese: Sally Amaki; Latin American Spanish: Alicia Vélez) - Kammi Summer Fujita was born on January 26, 2004 to George and Judy Fujita, who were both mentally insane due to chronic drug use; she was taken in by the UN and inducted into Project Hercules and Team Jenny after her parents stuffed her into a car (thinking she had somehow betrayed them) and nearly taking it to a crusher before a bystander heard her screaming and called the police. Being the youngest member of the team by a few months, she isn’t as mentally unstable as the other members, though she’s been known to have episodes. Kammi is the team’s other researcher and specializes in creating makeshift weapons like Molotov cocktails. She also tends to slip Japanese words in her sentences. Her callsign is Delta Fifteen.
  • Noah Baker (English: Aaron L. McGrath; Japanese: Daisuke Ono; Latin American Spanish: Edson Matus) - Born on July 9, 2003, Noah is unique in that he is the team's first male member. Born in Australia, he was used as bait by his parents to illegally hunt endangered species in the outback. They came afoul of one of the UN's other detective teams, Sierra Squad. He was taken in by the UN, and inducted into Project Hercules and Sierra Squad. After a single year, though, Sierra Squad underwent reorganization, and he was transferred to Delta Squad, a.k.a. Team Jenny. Noah rarely sees combat, instead serving as mission control, either at Team Jenny's headquarters, at a forward operating base, or aboard Big Bertha. He also tends to slip Kungarakany words in his sentences. Upon entry into Team Jenny, he and Ronnie immediately began crushing on each other, becoming the second-most popular pairing in the series behind Jenny and Makayla (though unlike the latter, Noah and Ronnie have yet to become a couple, and Tim Johnson said "it may be several years yet, but I swear to God, they WILL be a couple"). Early in development, he was Caucasian and was planned to be voiced by Tim. His callsign is Delta Sixteen.

Superiors[]

  • Jeff Herbert (English: David Tennant; Japanese: Kenyu Horiuchi; Latin American Spanish: Orlando Noguera) - Born Jeffrey Lyndon Herbert on October 1, 1948, he is one of Team Jenny's three superiors, replacing the deceased Joe Quill. Jeff spent his childhood in the UK before he was drafted into the Vietnam War at 18, fighting in several battles with Leonard. After being honorably discharged, he later became a high school history teacher, and joined the UN in 2007; after Joe's death, he was promoted to Team Jenny. Like his predecessor, could empathize with the girls, and his job is to brief the team on their target(s) and objectives.
  • Dr. Michele Yamashita (English: Patti Yasutake; Japanese: Mami Koyama; Latin American Spanish: Gisela Casillas) - Dr. Michele Yamashita was born on June 15, 1952. At an early age she and her family moved from the Japanese Isles to the US mainland, where she went to medical school and became an M.D. She joined the UN in 1985, and was promoted to Team Jenny in 1990. Dr. Yamashita serves as the team's nurse. After the death of Patti Yasutake in 2024, it was announced that the character would be written out after the sixteenth season.
  • Dennis Leonard (English: Ben Stein; Japanese: Koichi Sato; Latin American Spanish: Cesar Arias from 1994-2020, Jorge Ornelas since 2020) - Born Dennis Charles Leonard on December 1, 1944, he is Team Jenny's third superior. Leonard was born in a US Navy base in Panama, and was drafted in the Vietnam War in 1965. After being honorably discharged in 1967, he joined the UN, and became the second of Team Jenny's first two superiors in 1979. He has the charisma of a wet blanket, always being deadpan and humorless. However, it has been shown on many occasions that he does indeed have emotions, such as when he was noticeably angry after 9/11 in the October 2001 issue. Leonard's job is to give the team their equipment.

Animals[]

These are Louise's attack dogs, the first animals to undergo the Project Hercules process. All are named after prolific serial killers, something that vindicated Jenny's concerns about Louise being genuinely insane.

  • Samy (Frank Welker) is the first of Louise's attack dogs. He is a poodle and is named after Samuel Little.
  • Gacy (Don Messick from 1994 to 1996, Dee Bradley Baker since 1996) is the second of Louise's attack dogs. He is a Golden Retriever and is named after John Wayne Gacy.
  • Belle (Kat Cressida) is the third of Louise's attack dogs. She is a King Charles Spaniel and is named after Belle Gunness.
  • Chiky (Gregg Berger) is the fourth of Louise's attack dogs. He is a Cairn Terrier and is named after Andrei Chikatilo.
  • Bundy (Danny Mann) is the fifth of Louise's attack dogs. He is a Bichon Frisé and is named after Ted Bundy.
  • Berky (Tom Kenny) is the sixth of Louise's attack dogs. He is a Bedlington Terrier and is named after David Berkowitz.
  • Gertie (Tress MacNeille) is the seventh of Louise's attack dogs and arguably the most dangerous. She is a Pomeranian and is named after Gertrude Baniszewski.

Team Jenny Auxiliary[]

Not officially part of Team Jenny, the Auxiliary consists of former members of Direct Attack. They are called upon whenever Team Jenny either needs a target taken down using nonlethal methods, or simply for non-combat situations such as rescues and investigations (which allowed for the more rescue-focused episodes of Thunderbirds to be adapted).

  • Chisato Nishikigi (English: Lizzie Freeman; Japanese: Chika Anzai)
  • Takina Inoue (English: Xanthe Huynh; Japanese: Shion Wakamaya)
  • Mizuki Nakahara (English: Jennifer Losi; Japanese: Ami Koshimizu)
  • Mika (English: Bob Carter; Japanese: Kosuke Sakaki)
  • Kurumi (English: Lisa Reimfold; Japanese: Misaki Kuno)

Deceased members[]

  • Joe Quill (English: Shane Rimmer; Japanese: Chikao Ōtsuka from 1994-2015; Kotaro Nakamura from 2015-2019; Latin American Spanish: Luis Bayardo) - Joseph Shane Quill was born on July 29, 1924 and was one of Team Jenny's superiors. Born in Canada and raised in the UK, Joe fought in World War II in his twenties, earning the War Medal 1939–1945 and the France and Germany Star. Post-war, he settled into a civilian lifestyle, before joining the UN; in 1979, he became the first of Team Jenny's original two superiors. Between himself and Leonard, Joe was more charismatic and could empathize with the girls. His job was to brief the team on their target(s), and their objectives. Joe didn’t do much fieldwork anymore, but when he did, even Onizuka himself feared him. Joe was killed off in the thirteenth season premiere due to the death of his voice actor, Shane Rimmer.

Emi is another wheelchair-bound secret mole for the UN who gathers intel from radical groups while posing as a child soldier; originally, she actually was one for Black Scorpion before being given therapy by the UN (Makayla correctly suspected Emi was given "very powerful" Adlerian therapy to break the brainwashing of Black Scorpion).
  • Johnny Wang (English: James Hong; Japanese: Tsunehiko Kamijō; Latin American Spanish: Francisco Colmenero) - Johnny was born Jianyu Wang on May 28, 1928 in what is now North China. He and Terry share a close friendship with romantic undertones, due to their shared love of weaponry and similar circumstances of how they ended up as UN Detectives (both grew up on farms and lost their parents to cattle rustlers). Tim Johnson stated in a 2022 interview that he plans to have Mark transferred to Delta Squad at some point, hinting that he and Terry will make their relationship official. His current callsign is Hotel Four, while his presumed future callsign is Delta Seventeen.

Black Scorpion[]

The most recurring antagonists in the series, Black Scorpion is a global terrorist organization. Originally just another Japanese separatist movement, Black Scorpion eventually began aiming for world domination, with the ultimate goal of creating a utopia free of war. They still use the same tactics since there's no other way to unify the world under one banner. Black Scorpion's headquarters are located at the Akaishi Mountains (the original plans called for the mountain to be carved in the shape of a scorpion, but Onizuka rejected this idea, as he believed it would be seen on satellite and get a nuclear missile launched at them).

  • Onizuka (English: Mako Iwamatsu from 1993-2007, Greg Baldwin since 2008; Japanese: Mako Iwamatsu from 1993-2007, Norio Wakamoto since 2008; Latin American Spanish: Humberto Vélez) - The main antagonist of the series, born on February 29, 1923 as Riko Sousuke. He took on the name Onizuka and founded Black Scorpion immediately after hearing of his family's murder at the hands of American soldiers in 1942. He served 45 years in prison (1946 to 1991) for running a massive Ponzi scheme that he used to fund Black Scorpion since its beginning. Onizuka is a charismatic and intelligent figure who is also very affable to those who don't cross him or Black Scorpion, and respects Team Jenny for their persistence in defeating him. Out-of-universe, he was named after astronaut Ellison Onizuka.

al-Salam[]

A terrorist organization located in Syria. They claim to be unaffiliated with al-Qaeda and the Taliban, and use counterfeit weapons imported from Khyber Pass, often using dangerously poor copies of the originals. They were introduced in The Fourth Movie as the main antagonists. The name "al-Salam" is Arabic for "The Peace", a rather ironic name.

  • Omar Abboud (English: Ghassan Massoud; Japanese: Antonio Inoki) is the leader of al-Salam. He is best described as an ambitious man who strives to be like Osama bin Laden, his hero. He is an Arabic immigrant who was deported from the United States in 1965 after running a large-scale pyramid scheme in tandem with the Vincenetti Crime Family (they cut ties with Abboud after he was exposed and several made men were sent to prison for fifty or more years, including Stefano, who was paroled after ten years).

To accomplish this goal, they carry out numerous terrorist attacks.

  • Tavish MacDonald (English: Billy Connolly; Japanese: Akio Ōtsuka) - The leader of the Celtic Liberation Front, Tavish is a charismatic man who styles himself as a Scottish Highlander. He could care less about what happens to the Irish under his command, but the safety and well-being of his fellow Scots are his biggest priority, and when things go south, he does his best to get them out before Team Jenny kills them. Full name: Tavish Aiden MacDonald.

Heimlé S.A.[]

A Switzerland-based food company based on Nestlé. The company has been involved in a large number of scandals, such as pushing its baby formula towards families with low/poor water supply (before any members of Team Jenny aside from the original five were born), draining various countries’ water supplies to make their bottled water, still using ingredients gained from child labor, pushing their food as healthier than it actually is, being a heavy plastic polluter (all technically concerns towards other major food companies as well), working with at least one dictator, and its then-CEO, Ethan Morgan, admitting that he thought water being considered a human right was "extreme".

Korean Mob[]

The Korean Mob is a Kkangpae organization from Korea. It first appeared in 2017.

Squad 27[]

The first Project Hercules subjects before Jenny and Makayla who later went rogue and became a band of modern-day brigands and anarchists who revel in destruction and derive perverse pleasure from the suffering of others. After brutally maiming a man they suspected of running a human trafficking ring only for him to not actually be the culprit, the entire squad was dishonorably discharged and sent to maximum-security prison. Due to their abilities, however, they were able to escape and cause chaos, being placed on the FBI's Most Wanted list as a result.

  • Gabi Winton (English: Judith Barsi) is Squad 27's leader. Born Gabrielle Kathleen Winton on November 12, 1960, she was inducted into Project Hercules in 1977. She had a violent streak, however, often killing people indiscriminately without any regard for innocents caught in the crossfire.

Takanashi-gumi[]

The Takanashi-gumi (高梨組) is the most powerful Yakuza gang in the Japanese isles. They also have activities in the mainland US, South China, and Korea. Vincenetti Crime Family[]

The Vincenetti Crime Family is the most powerful Mafia family in the US, headquartered in Brooklyn, New York. Their known fronts include Il Formaggio di Stefano (Stefano's cheese brand), Sicilian Homestyle Bistro (Lorenzo's restaurant), and Salva Mart (Tuco's grocery store). They're known to value loyalty above all else, and had connections with New York City's government, allowing them to get away with most of their activities. Their goons mainly use Thompson machine guns, woefully outdated by modern standards; Albert “Lips” Vincenetti defended this choice, stating that “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. Albert's daughter, Malia, blew the whistle on the entire organization in 2003, and instead of going into witness protection, was recruited into Team Jenny. By the late 2000s, the family had been reduced to a shell of itself due to RICO laws and many trusted members either dead, critically injured, in prison, or going into witness protection.

  • Stefano Vincenetti (English: Steve Buscemi; Japanese: Hiroki Tōchi) - The Don of the family since 2019 and Albert's brother, Stefano Kristoff Vincenetti was born on July 14, 1960. He is a paranoid mob boss who will do anything to get more power, and is shown to be extremely vindictive: after Malia blew the whistle on the entire family, he has vowed to track her down and personally kill her; Malia, on her part, has vowed to make his death slow and painful, and to that end, has gone to Louise for advice on several occasions.
  • Francesca Vincenetti (English: Aida Turturro; Japanese: Megumi Hayabashara) - Stefano's wife and Malia's mother, born Francesca Elisa Esposito on September 29, 1967. She only married Stefano for his money and pretends to be happy with her relationship to keep him happy.
  • Martha Vincenetti (English: Brenda Vaccaro; Japanese: Yuko Saito) - Albert’s widow and Bobby's mother, born Martha Leigh Romano on April 21, 1968. She is a bitter, manipulative woman who only showed her sweeter side to other members of the family; after her husband died, her sweetness gradually faded.
  • Maria Colombo (English: Cristina Pucelli; Japanese: Mai Aizawa) - Alex’s estranged daughter, introduced in 2016. Born Maria Sara Colombo on October 19, 1992, she is mentally unstable and has a short fuse, to the point of snapping the neck of a bully when she was ten. She is one of the few people Louise is genuinely scared of.
  • Edna Vincenetti (English: Natalie Palamides; Japanese: Ryoko Shiraishi) - Malia’s cousin, born Edna Anne Vincenetti on September 9, 1995. She secretly hates the mafia life and is close with Malia, acting as a mole for Team Jenny.

  • Roberto "Chunky Bob" Vincenetti (English: Robert Loggia; Japanese: Bin Shimada) - Albert, Tuco, Giorgio, and Stefano's father, born Roberto Enrico Vincenetti on January 25, 1945 in Sicily. He was the founder and official boss of the Vincenetti Crime Family from 1979 until his death in 2015 from a stroke. Before then, he had been a member of the Denver Crime Family since 1970, but left to start his own organization after Clay Denver's death.
  • Albert "Lips" Vincenetti (English: Frank Vincent; Japanese: Kousei Yagi) - Stefano’s older brother, born Albert Franco Vincenetti on July 18, 1950, who was the unofficial boss of the Vincenetti Crime Family from 1990 until his father's 2015 death, after which he was promoted to official boss from then until his death in 2019. Albert was known to frequent Sicilian Homestyle Bistro and eat large meals there, earning him the "Lips" nickname. He was also a corrupt Mafia boss who would go so far as to torture children for information on his rivals. After his niece Malia blew the whistle on the organization, he made it a mission to have her killed. He was killed off in the eleventh season premiere due to the death of his voice actor, Frank Vincent; Albert, along with his son Bobby, was assassinated by Sandra and Malia, who shot them with a sniper rifle as they walked out of Sicilian Homestyle Bistro.
  • Tuco Vincenetti (English: Eli Wallach; Japanese: Ken Yamaguchi) - Albert's younger brother (born Tuco Luca Vincenetti on June 15, 1953) who operated Salva Mart. He was named after Tuco from The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (also played by Wallach). After Wallach's 2010 death, he was killed off in a 2012 comic issue.
  • Giorgio Vincenetti (English: Michael Pataki; Japanese: Akira Kamiya) - Another of Albert's brothers, born Giorgio John Vincenetti on May 15, 1957. He died in 2011 of lung cancer, caused by years of smoking.
  • Bobby Vincenetti (English: Danny Tamberelli) - Albert and Martha's son, born Roberto Albert Vincenetti on April 6, 1987. He was groomed to become the heir until he was killed with his father in 2019.
  • Alessandro "Alex" Colombo (English: Tony Sirico; Japanese: Haruhiko Yamanouchi) - The family Caporegime, born Alessandro Vittorio Colombo on December 9, 1970. Alex was a loyal friend to the Vincenettis, but had a short fuse and wasted no time in killing people just for annoying him. He was killed off in a 2022 comic issue due to the death of voice actor Tony Sirico.

  • Brian Hollick (English: Keith David)

  • Kevin Walton (English: Billy West) was born on June 20, 1993. He is the owner of Positive Vibes, a coffee shop. He is a firm enforcer of toxic positivity (his coffee shop only plays "Don't Worry Be Happy" on repeat; said song also provides the store's slogan) and sneaks special drugs into every coffee cup he serves that makes the drinkers perpetually happy and addicted; he also violently enforces positive vibes on people, threatening to brutally murder them if they don't remain happy every waking moment. He is arrested by Team Jenny and imprisoned (Louise badly wanted to throw him to her dogs, though).

Florida[]

  • Kenneth Stevens (English: George Lowe) was born Kenley Seth Stevens Jr. (he goes by Kenneth because he hated the name Kenley, but refused to have it legally changed due to his deep distrust of the government) on August 19, 1973. He is slowly and brutally murdered by Louise after he makes the mistake of trying to flirt with her.
  • Joseph Wallace (English: Donovan Patton) is a street criminal, born Joseph Harrison Wallace on January 15, 1980. He is an extremely pathetic and harmless criminal, once trying to rob a bank with an Astro Magnum (a toy gun that was used as the mold for the original Shockwave toy) and hijack a kid's Power Wheels race car, only to give up after the kid punched him the groin. Because of how pathetic he is, nobody regards him as a threat, and the police never arrest him because his crimes are so minor that it would be a waste of time and resources to process him. If there's anything he does right, it's his observation skills and photographic memory, which is why he is one of Team Jenny's underworld contacts (which hasn't stopped Louise from trying to kill him on multiple occasions).

He appeared in a fifteenth season episode, in which he was discovered to be an associate of Edith Lear and personally arranged for the deaths and/or maiming of hundreds of autistic children. (a parody of Barney & Friends), which follows Freddie the green dinosaur singing and dancing with children, many of whom are molested by Dean and suspiciously never seen again. He is beaten to death with his own dildo while off the set by Kristen, who declares "I HATE you! EVERYBODY HATES YOU!" (a reference to the song "I Love You", which plays at the end of every Barney episode), and Freddie and Co. is canceled by the station that airs it after Team Jenny discovers that Keller had kidnapped, molested, and killed every child who disappeared, and in some cases butchered and ate them.

Former Factions[]

Camino Cartel[]

The Camino Cartel was a drug cartel based in San Camino, Mexico. They sold all kinds of drugs from cocaine to meth and had been known to use a major taco chain (Toni’s Taco Shop) as a front for their criminal activities. Other known fronts included the Gómez Oil Company (their first known front), and a soft serve ice cream truck fleet called "Mr. Yippee". The entire organization was brought down in The Twelfth Movie by Jenny and Makayla after the destruction of all of its fronts and the death of every leader in the organization.

  • Antonio "Toni" Gómez (English: Danny Trejo; Japanese: Tsutomu Yamazaki) - The leader of the Cartel, born Antonio Emmanuel Gómez on June 25, 1956. He was also Makayla’s older brother and wanted her to join the Cartel so she could succeed their father Ramon as the leader. Toni was calm and stoic, unlike some of his other rivals. He met his end in The Twelfth Movie (September 10, 2019) when the truck he and the survivors of the base were in exploded when Jenny threw a vintage Formula One car into the trailer and set off the volatile chemicals inside (it's a long story, but in short, watch the climax of Toy Story to get an idea of how she did it).
  • Mariana Gómez (English: Zoe Saldaña; Japanese: TBA) - Toni's second wife, born Mariana Claudia García on April 19, 1978. The two married in 2003.
  • Victoria Gómez (English: Raquel Welch; Japanese: Masako Nozawa) - Ramon's widow. She was the co-leader of the Cartel, working alongside Toni, and was CEO of the Gómez Oil Company. Having an attitude, Victoria expected people to make her happy. In addition, her marriage with Ramon was very rocky, to the point where Victoria eventually hired an assassin to shoot Ramon in the stomach with a sniper rifle in The Tenth Movie, resulting in his death. Like Toni, Victoria also met her end in The Twelfth Movie during the truck's explosion. Full name: Victoria Maria Montalbán. Date of birth: October 9, 1936. Death: September 10, 2019.

He cared for his only daughter and wanted her to take over the Cartel when the time came. In addition, Ramon was a huge talker, earning him the nickname "Motormouth". He was killed off in The Seventh Movie at the age of 94; the scene of him and Toni at the hospital was reportedly recorded with ADR hours prior to voice actor Ricardo Montalban's death, though this has never been confirmed. Denver Crime Family[]

The Denver Crime Family was a crime organization located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. They moved operations to El Paso, Texas when the heat got to be too much, and entered into a partnership with the Camino Cartel. Clay Denver had two daughters, Jenny and Bea, with the former being groomed to succeed Clay; it was through the Denver Crime Family's dealings with the Camino Cartel that Jenny first met Makayla. Anna committed suicide in 1976 due to depression after Clay caused her to have a miscarriage, and Bea was killed in a plane crash in 1979, with Jenny killing Clay with a meat cleaver shortly thereafter; Jenny was recruited by the UN along with Makayla to become the first UN Detectives.

  • Clay Denver (English: Kiefer Sutherland) - The leader of the Denver Crime Family, born Clayton Russell Denver on August 28, 1936. At an early age, he had a great relationship with his father, who was in the grocer business, and planned on following him in his trade before getting into the criminal underworld. In 1961, Clay took control of the Morgan Crime Family after a bloody power struggle, becoming its new leader and rebranding the organization to the Denver Crime Family. That same year, he married Anna Craft.
  • Anna Denver (English: Neve Campbell) - Clay's wife, born Anna Phoebe Craft on June 25, 1939.
  • Bea Denver (English: Bryn McAuley) - Clay and Anna's daughter, born Beatrice Lisa Denver on July 25, 1968. Unlike Jenny, Bea was much more cheerful, though Jenny was extremely protective of her. Bea was killed in a plane crash on October 15, 1979.

Direct Attack[]

An organization based in Tokyo, Direct Attack was created to stop crime in the city, which had risen to ludicrous levels thanks to the Vincenettis starting up operations in the city, putting them in direct conflict with Black Scorpion and Takanashi-gumi. DA utilized female agents known as the Lycoris to covertly deal with crime in the city, as well as male agents known as the LilyBell, who were tasked with killing any Lycoris who went rogue or threatened to expose DA's existence.

The organization operated very much like the United Nations' detective teams, but with zero care as to the wellbeing of the agents. The lack of access to Project Hercules also proved troublesome, as Lycoris and LilyBell would inevitably age out and have to be replaced.

Direct Attack never appeared in Detective Jenny, instead being the main organization of one of its spin-offs, Lycoris Recoil. In the final two episodes of the first season of the latter, it was revealed that the UN was always aware of DA's existence, and sends Team Jenny to shut it down by force; the ensuing two episodes, when not focusing on the effort to get Chisato's replacement heart, focused on Team Jenny effortlessly tearing their way through Lycoris and LilyBell alike. Season 1 ended with Chisato Nishikigi and Takina Inoue, the last surviving Lycoris, being inducted into Project Hercules and becoming private investigators based in Hawaii, always on call as part of Team Jenny's newly-formed auxiliary for nonlethal takedowns, rescues, and investigations.

  • Kusonoki (English: Kayleigh McKee; Japanese: Yoko Soumi) - Commander of Direct Attack, all Lycoris answered to her. Stern and pragmatic, she was willing to make sacrifices and lie in order to protect the integrity of her organization, even if it came at a cost to her subordinates. Despite this, she was shown to have a warmer attitude towards certain Lycoris, such as Chisato, though she did not express this publicly. When DA was dismantled by Team Jenny, Jenny called her a "vile woman", and let Louise "have fun" with her; exactly what she did is intentionally left ambiguous, the only known detail being that Louise returned to Hills Beach with several hundred pounds of meat for her dogs.
  • Fuki Harukawa (English: Morgan Berry; Japanese: Maki Kawase) - A 1st Lycoris of DA's Tokyo Branch and the ex-partner of Takina. She was noted to always have "her head on straight" and remained staunchly dedicated to the DA, with extreme beliefs on what was and wasn't appropriate for a Lycoris. She was killed during Team Jenny's raid of DA headquarters, having her head blown off by one of Terry's sawed-off shotguns.
  • Sakura Otome (English: ???; Japanese: Makoto Koichi) - A 2nd Lycoris of the Direct Attack Tokyo Branch. She became Fuki Harukawa's new partner in place of Takina Inoue. She was killed during Team Jenny's raid on DA headquarters, having a grenade shoved in her mouth by Sandra and thrown out a window, being blown up before what remained of her hit the ground in a charred, smoldering mess.
  • Erika Janome (English: Anairis Quiñones; Japanese: Yuka Yagami) - A 2nd Lycoris. During the arms deal operation conducted by Fuki Harukawa and her team, she was taken hostage and almost killed by fellow Lycoris, Takina Inoue, who ultimately secured her rescue. She was killed during Team Jenny's raid on DA headquarters, being gravely injured in the initial attack, and then having the upper half of her body blown up by Makayla (using an explosive round in her pistol) when she clungs to her leg, to which Makayla replied "Such heroic nonsense" (Jenny immediately noted her quoting of Megatron, to which Makayla responded "I always wanted to be in a situation where I could say that").
  • Hibana Kagari (English: ???; Japanese: Hodaka Mieno) - She is a 2nd Lycoris stationed at the Tokyo DA Tokyo Headquarters. She was part of the arms deal operation headed by Fuki Harukawa, and is the roommate of Erika Janome. She was killed during Team Jenny's raid on DA headquarters, suffering a particularly gruesome death when Kammi shot her with an incendiary round she had created, incinerating Hibana's internal organs before she burst into flame and was reduced to a charred skeleton that was later reduced to ash when Jenny stepped on it.
