In 1927
Mao Tse-tung (* December 26th, 1893 in Shaoshan, Hunan) is a Chinese Revolutionary. His Name means "benefactor of the East". In 1921, he was one of the co-founders of the Communist Party of China, which he dominated since 1935. He leads the Communists in the Chinese Civil War against Chiang Kai-shek and fortified his power on the Long March.
In 1927, he went on with 1,500 Communist Soldiers, to create a Soviet in the Chingkang mountains. After failing there, they moved their Base to Southeastern Chianghsi. When the Kuomintang attacked them with more than 100,000 Soldiers, they started the Long March to Shensi with 90,000 people, where they arrived after almost a year - their Army had shrunk to less than 10,000 Men. Still, they stayed loyal to him.
Meanwhile, the Japanese had invaded China. The relationship between Communists and Kuomintang was shaky, sometimes forming a united front, sometimes fighting more fights with each other. However, Mao succeeded in creating "liberated areas" behind the Japanese Frontlines, so the number of his followers grew quickly.
At the age of 12 years, Mao was married to 16-year-old Luo Yishiu, according to Tradition and against his Will; she died a few years later. During 1920-27 he was married to Yang Kaihui, with whom he had three Kids, of which two are still alive; in 1930, she was tortured and executed by the Kuomintang. During 1928-39, he was married to Ho Tsu-chen; together, they had six Kids, but only one daughter survived. In 1938, while his third wife was in the Soviet Union, he married the actress Chiang Ch'ing. In 1940, she is pregnant.
In Nazi Germany, his books (like "On Guerrilla Warfare" from 1937) are unsurprisingly forbidden.
