History

The inter-war years

The economy fell into ruins between 1918 and 1937.

Russian Revolution (1917-1924)

The Lithuanian–Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republic (LBSSR, LitBel) came and went in 1919. It was successfully Bolshevised by Russia in 1922, kicking out the Tsarist and Polish nationalists. It joined the USSR in 1924.

The Great Depression (1929-1940)

The economy fell into ruins between 1918 and 1937. It joined the USSR in 1922.

The Anti-Hitlerian War (1939-1946)

The German lead holocaust was horrific and killed 3,000,000 Belarus citizens (including 1,250,000 Jews and Romani\Sinti) in the nation.
