Sheldon Robert Johnson, Jr. (b. June 24, 1961) is an American politician and the current president of the United States. After defeating incumbent Donald Trump, Johnson was inaugurated as the 46th president on January 20, 2021. He was the CEO of Johnson Industries from October 23, 1991 to September 1, 2009, at which point his son Tim Johnson took over. He was the 39th Governor of California from January 3, 2011 to January 7, 2019, succeeding Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Prior to entering politics, Johnson was also an actor, producer, director, and writer, beginning his acting career in the 1970s with the 1977 film adaptation of the Richie Rich series of comics as Freckles Friendly. His directorial debut was 1983's smash hit Return of the Jedi, which he also wrote, winning him an Academy Award for Best Director in 1984.

Sheldon Robert Johnson, Jr. was born on June 24, 1961 to Sheldon and Lucy Faye Johnson in San Jose, California.
At an early age, Johnson had a keen eye for politics; at five he memorized the names of every American President up until then, and the first seven amendments of the Constitution. His lifelong dream was to run for President; while he was CEO of Johnson Industries, Johnson studied American history and read copies of American documents, including the Bill of Rights, in his spare time.
Johnson married Tammy Jo Chalke on July 30, 1990 on the Johnson Studios lot; the wedding occurred without then-CEO Phil Stacker's permission, and as Johnson family members were banned from participating in all Johnson properties at the time for the frivolous accusation of harassment, all involved had to sneak into the studio, hold the ceremony quickly, and get out before Stacker called the San Jose Police Department. Several guests were arrested for trespassing, which ultimately spurred the Johnson family to speed up their effort on buying up the company's increasingly undervalued stock to regain control of the company, which they ultimately did on October 23, 1991, at which point Stacker conceded defeat and resigned.
Johnson Industries[]
After Stacker & Associates CEO Phil Stacker resigned from Johnson Industries on October 22, 1991, Johnson assumed control of the company. Under his reign, Johnson acquired many companies, including PrimeStar, Yahoo!, YouTube, and Dog n Suds, and oversaw Monster World, the EarthBound movie series, and Detective Jenny. Johnson was often cited as "the greatest CEO in Johnson history", though Tim quickly took that title within two years of taking over.
Johnson was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1999.

On May 1, 2009, Johnson announced his intentions to retire from Johnson at the age of 46 and run for Governor of California in the 2010 midterm election. Critics thought Johnson would not win unless he "pulled a (Tonya) Harding" and use vicious tactics against the person ahead of him. However, his vow to run a positive campaign and refusal to stoop to dirty tricks, coupled with his fame, were factors that led to him being nominated over Jerry Brown, who was also the 34th Governor between 1975 and 1983, and then elected over Meg Whitman, with Gavin Newsom as his Lieutenant Governor. He got re-elected for a second term in 2014.

Johnson has been married to Tammy Jo Johnson since July 30, 1990. They have five children, Tim and Chloe, along with Greg, Tom, and Natasha. He also has five grandchildren, Ricky, Bella, and Jesse, all from Tim, and Chloe's adopted children Lauren and Ethan Johnson.
In 2015, Forbes ranked him as the richest person in the world, with a net worth of approximately $132.5 billion. His father, Sheldon Johnson, was CEO of Johnson Industries from 1944 to 1981, and ran for President in 1988.
Politics[]
Just like all of his predecessors at Johnson Industries, Johnson is highly liberal, and a member of the Democratic Party. He is running for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020 on a platform of making "hardcore" improvements to the United States of America.
Johnson has gone on record as stating that America would be much better under him than under any of his competitors. He has earned endorsements from celebrities, former candidates such as Kamala Harris, Michael Bloomberg, and Pete Buttigieg, and former Presidents Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, and Barack Obama.
His favorite Presidents include George Washington, Franklin D. Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy, Theodore Roosevelt, Abraham Lincoln, and Barack Obama. He also believes that Americans "no longer know how to be decent citizens", and intends to "do something about it". He is also a staunch critic of Donald Trump, comparing him to the Roman emperor Caligula and saying that "while he once had morals, he got brainwashed by a combination of greed and (Vladimir) Putin's regime".
