Wilhelm Ritter von Leeb (* 5. September 1876 in Landsberg am Lech, Bavaria) is a Veteran of the First World War and colonel-General of the Wehrmacht.

Even before the First World War, he served in China during the Boxer Rebellion. Since 1915, he's allowed to call himself "Ritter von Leeb". After the World War, he participated in the destruction of the Socialist council republic of Munich.

In Summer 1939, Leeb was reactivated a second time and got the command of Heeresgruppe C, over the German Troops at the French border.

As a Reaction to the declarations of war of France and Great Britain to Nazi Germany, he wrote into his diary „Hitler ist ein verblendeter Narr, ein Verbrecher!“ ("Hitler is a conceited fool, a criminal!") Hence, he declared himself willing to cooperate in a putsch, when Wilhelm Canaris approached him in 1940 about it.

He's the second-oldest active General after Gerd von Rundstedt.

In the Hierarchy, he serves below Walther von Brauchitsch/Adolf Nazi.
